L'Tanya Carl Johnson
Dr. L’Tanya Carl Johnson, writing under the pen name Lit Samuel, is a distinguished author with a rich background in both theology and technology. He earned Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Ministry from the United Theological Seminary and holds a Master’s degree in Information Systems from the State University of New York at Binghamton. He also has degrees in Electronic Technology from Wayland Baptist University and the United States Air Force.
Dr. Johnson served over 20 years in the United States Air Force as an Air Traffic Control technician and Quality Assurance Evaluator. After retiring, he spent 23 years as a Naval Contractor for BAE Systems, supporting Air Traffic Control equipment aboard U.S. Navy ships. Alongside his career, he has been an ordained minister and contributed to teaching and organizing at Vine Memorial Baptist Church in Philadelphia.
A lifelong lover of science, Dr. Johnson’s interest in astronomy began in West Philadelphia High School and led him to pursue various science projects. He writes to share his passion for exploration and leadership, inspired by his love for Star Trek. His book honors the character Sulu and his journey from San Francisco to the captaincy of the Starship Excelsior, inspiring readers to follow their own paths of discovery and growth.
